Texas Disaster Portal 1.0

The Texas All-Hazards Emergency Response initiative, facilitated by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), aims to enhance public access to vital disaster response information and assistance resources. This endeavor is rooted in the legislative mandate outlined in H.B. 2325 Sec. 418.057, which stipulates the development of a comprehensive Disaster Web Portal with specific objectives.

1. Provision of Public Information: The portal is designed to disseminate crucial disaster information, including available programs and services for disaster victims, as well as detailed funding and expenditure data pertaining to disaster assistance programs.
2. Response and Recovery Insights: It will also offer insights into ongoing disaster response and recovery activities, fostering transparency and awareness among the public.
3. Assistance Resources: Furthermore, the portal will guide individuals on how to obtain assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), state agencies, organized volunteer groups, and other entities involved in disaster relief efforts.

TDEM is tasked with coordinating state emergency management programs to ensure effective response and recovery from emergencies and disasters. This includes implementing strategies aimed at preventing or mitigating the impact of such events. TDEM has developed robust Crisis Information Management capabilities utilized by state and local jurisdictions for coordination of response efforts. Nonetheless, the focus of this legislation is to create a more accessible platform for citizens seeking disaster information and resources.
